You can use Iconic Mixers for more than just cocktails. Made like an elevated simple syrup with real ingredients, our mixers can be used in place of things like honey, sugar, or extracts in any recipe. When subbing out ingredients in recipes, it will always take a little trial and error but that’s what we are here for. In this blog post, we came up with two dipping sauces you can pair with your favorite frozen treats.
Jazz up Trader Joe’s snacks with a handcrafted dipping sauce.
This time last year, we made Cookie Glazes inspired by cocktails. It made decorating store-bought cookies a breeze. To save even more time during the busy holiday season, we love shopping the frozen food section of Trader Joe's. This year, we're sharing two easy to make dipping sauce recipes to pair with our favorite frozen snacks.
Tangy mustard sauce with sweet honey and a blend of baking spices paired with Trader Joe’s Parmesan Pastry Pups
The Parmesan Pastry Pups (or Puff Dogs as I like to call them) are a staple around the holidays. It’s the easiest snack to throw in the oven for a savory bite. Pairing this with a honey mustard sauce was a no-brainer. Iconic Spiced Honey adds a wonderfully rich blend of honey and warm spices in this elevated sauce. It's a drizzle consistency so you can use this sauce to dress up a plate if serving this at a party.
Spicy Honey Mustard Sauce
- ½ cup of Dijon Mustard
- ¼ cup of Iconic Spiced Honey
- Pinch of Salt
- Red pepper flake
-Combine all in a dish and garnish with a pinch of red pepper flake.
A sweet and spicy cranberry dip for Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Empanadas
A year doesn’t go by without making this Cranberry Thyme Jalapeño Dip. We usually save Thanksgiving leftovers to make tacos (instead of a sandwich) and this dip brings everything together. We thought this recipe would be great with some of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Empanadas and we weren’t wrong. It's also great with cornbread, shortbread cookies, or tortilla chips!
Cranberry Jalapeño Dip
- ½ cup of fresh cranberries
- 1 half of jalapeño, seeded and diced
- ½ cup of Iconic Cranberry Thyme
-In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients
-Simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes or until cranberries have soften
